Every year, more than 1,500 children in the 29th district are reported abused or neglected, many of them unable to return to their homes because of unsafe conditions. CASA volunteers step in to help children through the complex and often-lengthy process in which a judge will determine where they may safely and permanently live, as well as ensure they have access to the material items and resources they need to adjust to their new circumstances.
Our office will be collecting new pajamas and books for children from birth to age 12 from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15. The drive’s kick-off event will be held in conjunction with our next blood drive on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Deerfield, located at 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield, IL.
Donations can be dropped off at Morrison’s district office, located at 400 Lake Cook Rd., Ste. 100b, in Deerfield, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also drop off donations at the additional locations listed below*:
